Friend of mine (really!) in fact my cousin, said that they accidentally signed off their car as being off the road for one extra month than it was. they were abroad so were genuine but put down the next month with the months they were away. they were saking me if they can go in to the county council and change it now. i'd reckon it's too late though. Is it possible or is it the rule that the county council can't change it? Cheers!

P.S it's a friend of mine so don't give me any cheek!

Not much point in dragging it up now.

Was it taxed for the moneth he is trying to declare it off the road? They will most likely sent it back if theres an issue. I went to renew my tax a couple of years back. Cant remember the dates but it had been off the road for about 6 months, lets say since the april. I thought it was only since june so I got the form stamped. When I went to tax it the guy told me it was off the road since april and got me to fill the form in again and head back to the Garda station. Was in Clondalkin so it was only across the road.

Did he send it in or do it in the tax office in person?

No they taxed it in council's motor tax office after they got it signed by the guards so there were no issues about it then. Just to be on safe side they are thinking they should get it changed but it sounds like it would be too late now and I myself doubt the council would let them do it.
Was just hoping someone here might know for sure.
