1. What is your budget? €1600 max :eek:

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming mostly - battlefield, Starcraft 2, Arma 2 etc

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.] No, currently have a Samsung r780 laptop that is dying a slow death

5. Do you need a monitor? Yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. 24' preferably

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.] Will need a keyboard, have a razor mouse and need a wireless card

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Would like to try it but time is the enemy

8. How can you pay? Bank Transfer/Laser/Visa Debit Card

9. When are you purchasing? Preferably in the next 20 days but I'm a sucker for reviewing everything

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Galway city but would probably select it to be pre built by hardwareversand

Thanks for the reply. I may look at getting a better graphics card (although that one is a great one)

This is the build I'm comparing against. From what I read the hyperthreading i7 is overkill? Would anyone recommend this build?

There's not really any benefit from hyperthreading in gaming.

That build doesn't really have that much difference apart from missing the screen and a fancy cooler in exchange for a better graphics card. I suppose there's the extra RAM too, but that's not going to have much difference in performance.

I think you should work with Skylinehead's build an discuss if you really want any extra. You can get them to build it for €20 and you can keep all the goodies of stickers, spare cables and screws that you probably don't get with the prebuild. It's not bad value and certainly a solid high end build without skimping anywhere but you don't have the customisability of getting exactly what you want.

I think Skylinehead forgot the PSU. You'd probably want a decent 550W PSU, like the superflower amazon.

Or you could get the golden green 650W if you want to splash out a bit more with some additional room for expansion and overclocking.
