Hello all, long time lurker. I've read all the stickies, and they're amazing, but yet I find myself doubting myself. I finally decided to shift the pounds and I'm excited to be honest. I'm 21, female, 5"3 and just under 150 pounds. I'd love to get down to 135 pounds in the foreseeable future, as I am going off travelling in August. Never tried the whole healthy eating/exercise thing before so it'll be tough. Basically I've cut the crap, and here's a sample of an average day's food, if you could see anything I should remove/add, please tell :)

    Breaky:
Porridge with almond milk and something in it like a few sunflower seeds or half a banana,

    or

    Weetabix and low fat milk.
    Water or green tea.

    Snack: apple

    Lunch:
Is usually always a gorge Food Doctor wholegrain pitta bread, with a small bit of lighter than light mayo, turkey breast, spinach and sometimes a small bit of red pesto.

Snack: corn cake and a light bit of reduced fat houmous

dinner: basically a chicken breast, veggie burger, etc and vegetables,

or no meat option, wholegrain rice and mixed beans in an Indian sauce.

That's about it, drinks loads of water. I'm aiming to exercise at least 30mins a day, with 20 mins cardio and then lunges weights etc. I have a crosstrainer but I struggle doing more than 5 mins on it, so hard and im so unfit, but getting there! Going to start Jillian Michaels 30 day shred too (im scared)

Any opinions would be great, thanks a mil :) Hopefully I shift the pounds.

Ditch the weetabix. Have eggs instead.

Could you cut out the bread and make a salad with the turkey breast, spinach etc?

    What kind of vegtables?

As in just two boiled eggs? Or an omelette?

Veg that's mainly green, spinach, asparagus, mangetots, green beans, carrots, peppers.

I could ditch the pitta but I think just one bit of carbs a day will have to stay in there, as in if I eat a pitta I don't have carbs with dinner, or vice versa.

    Thanks for the reply!

Have you worked out how many calories you need and how many your consuming?

You'll still get plenty of carbs in the veg you're eating each day, if you leave out the pitta. And at least they're wholesome natural carbs when they're coming from veg!
