Fas training allowance / taxed ?

I am receiving a pension from my previous company. I was also receiving jsb as I was unemployed for 15 months. This jsb was taxable as I was already receiving the pension. Fas tell me that the training allowance (same rate as jsb) may not be taxable. I hope it's true but am not sure. Anyone got any info please:confused:

Generally social welfare payments are taxable under Schedule E.

In practice though the payments are generally under the thresholds and thus are exempted.

I believe, though I do not have the legislation to hand that specific back to work payments are exempt- at least they used to be. Check with the tax office to be sure
