Sell or repair?

    I have a 2002 1.2 Clio Expression 16V
Bought it for some hassle-free motoring until I finish uni I can but something newer.
The clutch was slipping and I continued to drive it thinking that it was fine to leave it since it needs replaced anyway. Since got conflicting advice about flywheel damage.
Basically If I fix it, MOT in 2 months it and sell it in a few months I would get 800-900 for it. Clutch is going to cost me 250 because I can't drive it to go to my normal mechanic.

Should I try and just sell it how it is since I wanted rid of it soon anyway? How much could I expect to get for it since it barely moves on its worn clutch?

    Thanks.

I'd fix it. You'll get very little for a car that doesn't drive, because buyers will understandably assume that there might be more things wrong with it that they'll only find out when they replace the clutch and drive it.

What if I pay 250 for a clutch and it needs a flywheel too? What if it doesn't pass the MOT in August and I have to spend more to get it sold. I'm going to get less than a grand for it come selling time anyway.

Why is it worth less than a grand? it's worth nothing as it is, what mileage is on it?

Very unlikely that it'd need a flywheel

LM I reckon the op isn't in the republic

    Ohhh.

Who the fupp is charging 250 pounds to do a clutch on a Clio?

You can link away, i can't see it as a plug for the add as you are telling us it's broken :P

Everyone is charging minimum 200 plus VAT. All mechanics here are big operations and any small time mechanics that you would go to with a 10 year old car are a few miles away so I would have to get a transporter.
