Has anybody on here had any problems with a Powertap Pro+ not transmitting power data to a Garmin 500. This problem started a few weeks ago were it would stop transmitting power data intermittantly. Changed the batteries twice now and it has completely stopped transmitting. The unit has only about 7-8000km on it.

Make sure you have HRM pairing off if you're not wearing a HRM.

If it's not batteries, you're unlikely to be able to sort it out yourself. Is it still under warranty? Either way, you'll probably have to send it to the nearest service centre (possibly via whoever you purchased it from) - I think mine went to somewhere near Bristol last year

EDIT- you've not had the bearings changed recently have you?

Unfortunately its only 3 months out of warranty, I bought it through an American wheel manufacturer. I haven't had bearings or any other service done on it recently. I do use a Garmin HRM with it also. I was looking at the Bristol service centre costs ...yikes !!!

Bristol is your only real choice I think. I don't think anyone attempts to service them over here. The reason I asked about the bearings is that when I sent my PT to Bristol they discovered the bearings cover had been put back on the wrong way when they had been replaced causing the problems.
