    Hi People

Ive a few questions on becoming a business teacher that i cant seem to get straight answers on!

If you holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (DCU), what are u eligble to teach. According to pac.ie website you can teach accounting, economics and business. This would be an ideal scenario.

However after corespondance with a boards.ie member and the Teaching conuncil i have been informed that you need to have completed 54 ects credits in Economics or accountancy in order to be eligle to teach one of them. Now perhaps the BBS course might cover 54 credits of economics courses (not sure on this) but it certainly doesnt have 54 credits of accountancy modules. I rang the TC and she told me that you can make up the difference through other methods of further education. Does anybody know what these 'methods' could be or any have experience of this??

Also i have a friend on a hdip course at the moment and he is of the belief that he is eligle to teach all three! Is it possible that he got accepted to a hdip under the guise that he can teach all three subject even though the TC does not allow for this? He just has a BBS degree.

Also Does anybody have any experience with the proffessional exams and what they count towards? Are they worth anything if u hav not completed all the exams and are not a memeber of a prof body? ie are cap1s,cap2s, or the F1-F9 etc worth anything?

    Thanks in advance

Mods: perhaps this could go in the pgde section. Its up to u.:)
