Giving it a six. Five for a plain race and one extra point for it being Monaco

Gave it a 4. Fairly uninspiring stuff in the main, drivers spending more time watching tyre degradation than racing.

7 for me. There were some fairly good scraps during the race, and while it was a train at the end, it's was a pretty exciting train :D

I gave it a 3 - I hardly recall a single on track overtake. DRS was pointless. Pity the rain came too late.

I think I gave it a 5:o. Monaco is never really very exciting to be honest. The last amazing race there was Panis years and years ago. Only proper rain like the rain which fell after the race would have livened things up. To win takes skill and luck both of which Webber got.

Feel sorry for Schumacher though. Sets fastest time and is demoted. Grosjean gets in a tangle with Alonso and then hits Michael causing him to loose places. In the end he doesnt even finish the race due to fuel problems. How many black cats did the man run over?

The BBC team really hate him don't they?

Canada is one of the best circuits in F1 and even though its a semi-city track its a classic. It often produces brilliant races rain or not. Looking forward to it.

Monaco is usually a bore, everyone seems to talk about how amazing the atmosphere is but it just doesn't translate to the TV screen. If it wasn't for all the long history behind the race it would be in the same category for me as the borefest tikodromes.

I went with 7. I think for Monaco, it was above average...& even at that, is far more enjoyable than the likes of Bahrain etc. I've seen better, but also worse, much worse. Quali is always good there too

Gave it a 5, delighted for Webber :)

    5. Last 10 laps were mildly interesting as was Perez's outings. Kovaleinen did well and impressed. But overall quite dull. Wanted something more along the lines of last year without the red flag ;)

gave it a six earlier, maybe a five would have been fairer, wasn't great I suppose, did enjoy the last few laps, but no surprises, Vettel did well to make up places

At most a five. It's rarely any more than a five IMO. No overtaking.

He gained three places at the start by cutting a corner & escaped having to relinquish them for some reason. After that he just drove by the numbers

5, the few laps with the possibility of rain earned it that, otherwise a 2.

This kind of annoyed me. While I agree they shouldn't have been punished as they were avoiding a crash, I do believe they should have least been made to cede the places back to those that went around rather than through the crash corner. Would have been difficult to enforce at that stage though, the stewards are taking far too long with decisions lately, and this constant "Will be investigated after the race" crap is starting to annoy me to.

Yep by the time they decided on whatever action to take, it was too late & would have been unfair to Vettel to say "fall back in behind x driver" because it's very difficult to relinquish a position & defend at the same time.

He still gained an advantage by cutting a corner, thats a rule broke as far as I'm concerned. I wonder if Schumacher or Hamilton done the same would they have gotten away with it?

Not vettels fault though and impossible to know where he would have been. I guess they could make a call that he was behind such a driver when he left the track but would need to be a quicker decision process

Agreed totally not his fault & he needed to take said action. However, kinda unfair to the drivers who were in front of him to watch him cut a corner & be allowed remain there.

It wouldn't have been hard to establish where he would have been, we're constantly told the officials & stewarts have much more info available to them than viewers, plus it's not as if there was any overtaking after the event.

I do maintain he should have been told to relinquish the 3 gained positions. Those points could come into play towards the end for all we know

I gave it a 3 (probably a bit harsh) but that is solely based on Quali, which was actually quite exciting and I was delighted to see Schumi grab pole only for my to realize seconds later that he had a grid penalty. The race itself was a complete snore fest.

gave it a 3. no real racing.

SV should have handed back places.

pointless DRS zone, put DRS in the tunnel

Can't blame Vettel for what happened but certainly during the safety car the stewards should've got some shuffling around done.

Only the 5 other drivers except Vettel that cut corner one should be punished. I've been watching the start over and over. Vettel cuts the corner, he approaches the corner behind 2 Ferraris, and comes back out behind 2 Ferraris. HOWEVER, all the proceeding drivers overtook the mess and all the drivers caught up in the corner. Koveleinen was not up to 13th on merit, he merely cut the corner and overtook about 5 cars in the process. Same applies for the cars behind him (Vergne, a Virgin car and Senna who climbed to 10th), and Hulkenburg I think it was in front of him who jumped to 9th place.

In amongst the mess of it all included Button, Maldonado, Ricciardo and of course a handful of other cards.

So to conclude, big gainers from cutting that corner was the whole lot of them bar Vettel. Thing is he HAD to cut it as Grosjean's car was sliding to the left wall, where he had his car in the first place. It's my personal opinion that Vettel had no choice but to cut that corner, but the rest of the drivers that did had no right to and all 5 proceeding drivers should be punished.

    Gave it a 4.
It would have been more exciting if they were able to pass and not travel around like a train.

4 for me, and that's generous. I thought it was a snoozefest, as usual. Monaco just isn't suitable for modern Formula 1, it's a spectacle and a celebration of the sport, but in terms of actually racing and facilities it's done.
