Whats the car, what age are you, and how long have you had your licence? Sounds strange alright. Did you ring your current insurerer to find out why it was raised?

When you say that you have a full UK NCB, does that mean your insurance was held in the UK last year?

If so, and you're renewing with the same company over here, you'll find there's the usual "entirely legitimate price gap" between the two countries that a lot of other industries exploit errrr I mean encounter.

was in similar situation, when i called to my broker, to find out what the story, they knock off 50 quid, and that was best what they could do, for my fully comp open driving with all whistles and bells.

OP try maybe brokers, there is quiet a lot them around, some times through them will get cheaper. I am with my broker 5 years, others cant beat them in price and options what they offer.

Sorry all for not including these details. I have 8 years NCB if there is such a thing and a full driving license for 18 years, 07 Audi 2.0 s- line Audi estate.

I will get onto the local broker in the morning and post back. But as I said in my first post no other company's will even quote me.

Do you live in a rough area?

Increase is standard as premiums are rising but I'm interested about the level of rejection. Have you made any claims irrespective of blame?

Personal injury claims in the UK have rocketed, if you watch any daytime tv shows in the UK you will see every 2nd advert is for personal injury specialists. Until they have fully setup their equivalent of our Personal Injuries Board cover is only going up.

    Ummm, PIAB isn't exactly cheap.

Just payed the renewal on the 7er, down to €475 from €520 fully comp, T/A is due too - under €250 fully comp. Getting older does have its benefits! :p

long shot, but is the car older than 9 years? if so - that's the reason. some companies just don't want to insure older cars

Compared to what came before, it has significantly reduced payouts.

Needs more work, and a reduction in what the professionals involved make off the top, though.
