Chainset question compatibility question

Hi, I purchased a Trek Madone 3.1 last year and dislike the SRAM compact chainset, having traded in a bike with a 39/53 chainset and close ratio rear block.

Now I want to change the chainset to a 53/39 but am having trouble understanding what options are out there. The frame takes a 86.5 press fit bottom bracket, so what will fit this? Is it the same as shimano hollow tech II?

I was offered a raceface cadence from a friend however my local bike shop tells me this won't fit and I need to spend €180 on a 105 chainset (bit out of budget).

Any steer on this would be appreciated!!!

The bottom brackets are not compatible. Are you sure that yours is not bb30?

Assuming that its the ratio's on the compact you dont like you could change the chainrings (110bcd) to 38-52 you wont get exactly the same ratio as a standard but its close

Definitely a bb86.5 according to the bike specs.
