You don't have to shave your head. You'll get a little local jab, then it takes about 15 minutes including stitching. The worst part is the scraping on your skull which you can't feel but can hear. :D

Where are you getting it done?

Thanks for the quick reply... i have phoned several surgeons in the Matter Private and they are all booked out as far as August, so i got a doctor in Wexford to refer me to Ely Hospital in Wexford...

Does the stitching leave a scar, as in almost a bald line :)

You're asking the wrong guy that one! I think it leaves a mark but depends on how good your surgeon is. I know someone who went to a plastic surgeon to ensure no scarring on their forehead with one. Either way though I think it's very small.

Hi, I hope the procedure goes well for you. Make sure that you talk to the doc about scar management. I had a fairly sizeable cyst taken off the back of my head and unfortunately the scar became keloid, i.e raised and firm, which kind of negated the effect of having the cyst removed in the first place. As soon as the stitches are out, apply bio oil every day. It will reduce the appearance of the scar.
