    hi
in my apartment, we have the sky communal dish connection which is fed through fibre optic cable into the sky box.
i am thinking of cancelling sky tv and going free to air only as the contract is over.
my concern is, if I cancel sky, will they take away the sky cable too?
unlike normal sky in a house, the sky customer keeps the dish and the box and cables, I am not sure how does it work with sky fibre optic.
the optical connection uses a small fibre optical feed splitter or something.
i am afraid that they may take away that tiny box if i cancel sky.

has anyone cancelled sky in apartment with fibre optical feed?

That depends. Unfortunately there are a lot of dodgy operators in the apartment TV market,* who will gouge you for additional fees on top of Sky, then cut you off entirely if you stop paying. Should be illegal.

    * 'market' implies choice, but you've no choice other than what your management company allows you, aka the provider they're in bed with. :( Unless you can get good indoor Saorview and you're happy with that.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Thanks for the response mate. I think the communal dish is managed by sky kbo

Our management company queried this with the installer (Finlays) and were told that the cable would not be removed after a cancellation.
