roof box recommendations please

    I'm considering between the following for my mpv:

    Mont Blanc Vista 450
    Thule Atlantis 780
    KAMEI Husky XXL
    Farad F1
    Halfords Exodus 580

    Max budget of e350 - Any opinions or ones to avoid?

    I also am looking for a roofbox for my MPV. About 10 years ago I bought a very large solid box from O'Meara camping which they still have on their website. It got damaged in storage whch is why I want to replace it. It was a grey on top and black below box and was of a much stronger build quality than many of the boxes on your list. The grey faded badly and the box looked very shoddy after 2 years but was so solid that I was happy. I now want to get similar build quality but black in colour.

    I have ruled out the Thule and Farad and Exodus based on poor build quality they're pretty flimsey and are mainly made of plastic including the bracket that supports the opening/closing mechanism..

    While I haven't seen the Kamei I am persuaded by the reviews and very positive write ups it has received. My problem is trying to get to see it - I can't find it in Ireland (North or South). The only place that you seem to be able to buy it is from the roofbox company online.

    Where were you thinking of buying it from (roofbox is VATable) ?
