Facebook wall posts disappeared

    As it says on the tin, all my old status updates have disappeared, apart from the two or three most recent ones.

    This is pretty annoying, as I keep my wall pretty tidy and use it mainly as an archive for links.

    I have been avoiding moving to Timeline and am wondering if this is a precursor to a forced move, or is it just a bug?

    I googled the phenomenon, but none of the suggested fixes I found works. I also don't use the full site too much, preferring to use my phone app, so it's very unlikely that I inadvertently clicked a "hide posts" option.

    I have reported it of course, but naturally don't hold out much hope. Any ideas?

    It's either the link is inappropriate and banned is banned from facebook or a facebook glitch, maybe?

    It's not that the links are inappropriate, as smart-ass posts that I'm quite proud of have disappeared too!

    It could certainly be a glitch. FB support have been useless for this, though.

    What are the chances that it is timeline-move related?

    Are you using mobile to open facebook i have encountered these type of problems when i browse with mobile.

    Yeah, I've primarily been using the Android app. But the posts are gone from the full site, too.

    Update: they moved me to Timeline and all the "disappeared" posts are back... Including ones that I deleted myself years ago!

    So check your early timeline carefully for stuff you thought was gone. Also, refresh the page a few times after deleting, as more previously deleted posts turned up to replace the ones I'd just (re)deleted.
