I'm looking for some help in finding a new club to join.
Preferably one with an u25/u28/u30 rate.
If not, a club with a decent direct debit option that will allow me to spread out my payments over more than 10 months.
    In the Dublin/Kildare area.
The deal must run from now until end 2013.

I'm a 23 year old lad and joined my first club last september. I was given a 14 handicap to start with after throwing in my 3 cards. I got a few good months up in South County which i really enjoyed. It's safe to say i won 't be going back there now though after all the ****e that has gone on.

I have recently tried out a few courses and the one i was most impressed with was Beechpark. I had my mind set on joining until i talked to the manager about the payment options. A few of the lads(a lot older than me) i play with are set on joining but because they won't allow me to spread out my payments over more than 10 months i'm going to have to pass on it. I'm really disappointed as i really loved the course, atmoshere and the clubhouse looked pretty impressive too.

I have had a secure public sector job for the last 6 years(since i was 17)(as secure as you'll get these days) and have a pretty good income for my age. I need to keep my golfing expenses down to a max of €100 per month though as i have other bills such as rent, car insurance and so on.

At the end of the day i just want to play golf and with the amount i play and practice it would just be a waste of money for me not to join a club.

I'm slowly but surely loosing my mind trying to find a new golf club to join and i'm missing out on prime golf season.

The weather this week has just made it all the more worse.

Any tips or help would be great.
    Thanks.

    I suppose it depends how much beach park costs as a lump sum fee. All that the direct debit option is giving you is a glorified loan as there is usually a finance charge inherent in these options. Therefore why don't you just join and take out a loan equal to the amount of the lump sum fee up to 2013. If you like beach park i'd go for it as follows;

    E.g.
Beach park membership to 2013 €1,500
Take out a small personal loan of €1,500 to pay this

You would be able to borrow the €1,500 and repay over 18 months for around €100 per month based on current interest rates.

Therefore you could join the club you want to for €100 per month and should have no problem obtaining such a small loan based on a permanent income.

Take out loan and pay the golf course directly then pay the loan off over 12 months?
I think 10 months is typical for DD and golf clubs tbh.

Castlewarden are offering a direct debit scheme of € 100 per month.
    That might suit you.

    Thanks for the replies lads.
Normally I would go to the credit union for a loan but unfortunatly I already have a big enough loan out with them as my car was stolen a few months back. I got screwed on my insurance so I got feck all off them for it.
I was thinking about Castlewarden but they never got back to me when I inquired about membership. That was actually my second choice next after Beechpark. I must try them again and see if they csn do me a deal.
