Referendum Posters: Cable Tie Removal

    Hi All,

Don't know if this is the right place but I will give this question a shot.

I'm on a tidy towns committee. We despair after every election/referendum that all the cable ties are left behind on the poles. Some major roadworks were completed recently in the town so we have brand new poles that have never had cable ties. We'd like to send a reminder to campaigning parties to remove the cable ties with the posters.
Is there a list somewhere that has all the contact details for campaigning groups?

    Thanks!

There are only a handful of campaigning groups; to be most effective you should probably get onto those who are involved with the campaign in your specific area. Just do a group email to your local politicians and councillors, and remind them about cable ties on the doorstep.

I'd rather see election posters banned altogether to be honest. Given the amount of television, radio, newspaper, pamphleted and online information that is available out there, I hardly think we need politicians abasing themselves on every second telephone pole.

    I'd celebrate that day too.

Why not take photos of the poles while the posters are up? Then you'll be able to tell (in most cases) who's responsible for the cable ties left behind afterwards.

Some politicians do clean up after themselves.
