Are bio bb's dangerous if you have a mesh mask on. I was told that bio's can shatter and small bits can pass through the mesh and get in your eyes. I s this true and/or is it just cheap bio's or all them

It's cheap BB's period. It is not limited to Bio BB's.

This is a myth that is quite rampant in airsoft, and I'm not sure why. Cheap quality BB's can and do often shatter on impact, but it is by no means a bio-only thing.

It's a risk that you take when wearing mesh goggles - their very nature is to allow small particulates through, so you gotta hope that people are using decent BB's

Have yet to see that actually happening, however - recently saw a fella get a bit of paint from the inside of the mesh get into his eye from a bb strike. Minor panic at the time, luckily no damage. It was one of those really cheap mesh masks that have that detachable lower face guard. They guy looked over it and reckoned he needed to go and buy decent quality mesh goggles. Food for thought...

happened to me many of times, not nice being blinded in a eye in the middle of a game and not being able to take your mask off. were bolle glasses or something like that underneath if you are that concerned :)

Never had any problems, with some bios before I did notice them breaking if hitting a very hard surface, although that tends to happen with regular BBs too as previously stated. I always thought that the frames of the mesh would all a bit of "give" so to speak, so it's not as sharp an impact as hitting something solid in a fixed position.
