I've tried Flightstats but it doesn't give me any results for this flight this coming saturday morning (LHR-BOS)

I'd like to check in online and get a decent pair of seats. Any other tips for finding out the exact aircraft so I can use Seatguru?

It will be a B747-400. No plans to change at the moment,

Seat guru says there's 2 types of 747-400 in service with BA though and the seat layout is a bit different. Any idea which one is ours?

There is actually 3. You are on a 70J Lite.

    Here it is http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/British_Airways/British_Airways_Boeing_747-400_B.php

It varies between the two types.

Thanks for everyones' help. Got checked in online in the seats we wanted (51B, 51C) so we don't have to squeeze past anyone to get to the toilet or stretch the legs and we still have a window to gawk out at the Atlantic Ocean and some clouds for 4 hours :D

It was this configuration according to the online check in system.

    Just for anyone's info..
Although the BA website and our booking reference paperwork all say that the check in only opens 24 hours before departure, they apparently mean departure of YOUR first flight (if you've booked the entire journey with them presumably), not the departure of each aircraft. We were able to check in for the LHR-BOS leg as well as the TXL-LHR leg at 7am this morning which is 27 hours before the second leg departs. Seems a bit unfair actually. If you book just LHR-BOS all the decent seats will be gone by the time you can start checking in as people on connecting flights will have snapped them all up! (not complaining though :P )
