Does anyone have any advice/thoughts on what Metal Fabrication is like as a career?
    Thanks in advance.

Not personally but hubby does it and he said theres not a lot of work out there for fabricators at the moment as a lot of its reliant on the building/construction trade.

Thanks that's what I thought although I know of some companies doing well exporting abroad. I may look into it more.

Theres no harm in checking it out properly. His place have opened a place in the middle east but have also just put some of the lads on 3 day weeks because even if the companies get the jobs in its normally a few weeks before they are finalised and turned around never mind being paid for. He has a few friends in the trade and they all say the same its very hit and miss at the moment.

But hubby did say once you have that as a trade its useful because its not the type of trade everybody is doing so opportunities will arise in the future if not now.
