Don't wish to reopen recent wounds etc but, I checked through my bank statement over the weekend and noticed the cheque I posted for the household charge hasn't been cashed yet.
Sent it last week of March so I would have thought they would have cashed it by now?

(Also paid a garage for a car service two weeks ago and that wasnt cashed either - but I'm sure it will.!

Maybe your right Frank and I am sure you are - but I am not a political animal so to speak so I tend to keep away from those places......;)

Just a regular old Joe, but thought it strange my cheque wasn't cashed - maybe the government has loads of money and doesn't need mine:rolleyes:

Just hope they don't come after me for the interest ..............:D:D

apperently a number of people were on with joe duffy yesterday complaining that the money they sent in before the deadline has been sent back to them looking for more money.

it seems that the deadline was not the date you dated your cheque and posted it but when the civil service actually got around to opening the letters. so even though you complied with this new tax and sent it in on time you could get it back to you saying that they want more money.
