Bit of an odd one here. I'm going to watch Man on the Moon with my girlfriend later in the week. Problem is, she has no idea who Andy Kaufman is.

I'm just wondering what would be the best clips/videos/sketches of Andy to show her before we watch it so she can really appreciate how amazing Jim Carrey is in the role?

Excellent film, I don't think much or any knowledge of his career is needed to appreciated it but I knew him from the great Taxi tv show that was on when I was a kid.

This will give you a taste.

FYI I saw the movie before ever seeing any of his stand-up or knowing anything about him and I must say I probably didn't get the most out of it. I rewatched it years later after seeing some of his Saturday Night Live stuff, interviews and esp that movie 'My Breakfast with Blassie' and I really felt clued int to what he was about. That said tho, all that's you need to remember is that Kaufman was "a performer" rather than "a stand up comedian" and that he reveled in pulling tricks on the public and doing the unexpected rather than telling jokes or doing observational comedy. If you take in that much on board before you watch it then you don't really need to have seen any of his work.

Carrey was phenomenal in the role, Paul Giamatti do they both did Tony Clifton really well.
