Sure we'd never know what cars to avoid if that could be done

there was alot of talk about this being about a year ago, i.e you would be able to pay a fee about 200-250 and you could get the county on the reg changed. Obviously the government dont need the money though...

The only legal way AFAIK is if the vehicle has been confiscated by CAB and the identifier is enough to put a new owner in the line of danger from the criminal.

How do we know which cars to aviod now, when reg numbers can't be changed?
(except from few cases when you get a link of double advertisments - old and new - proving the car was clocked)?

I tried to change the reg on mine. Was told a flat "NO"... It could be a money spinner for the Gov. You'd think they'd cotton on, in these austerity struck times we live in...

you can change it, but you;ll have to wait until it's 30 years old and go for a ZV reg.

30 years... I'll have forgotten why I wanted to change it by then...:D

Can you pay the €1000 to get a unique registration, after the car has already been registered?

    No.

Technically, that's not exactly correct. You can, of course, request a reg change, to which you will be told "No"!!!

    (Sorry, just couldn't resist!):D:D:D:D
