Samsung camera won't charge?

    sorry if this is the wrong forum...

    I've had a Samsung ES60 camera for a couple of years now, but haven't used it all that much tbh

    anyway i lent it to a friend recently and when i got it back the battery had run down. however now when i try to charge it, it doesn't respond at all - the light doesn't even flash red for a couple of seconds or anything like that. friend says he didn't do anything to it.

    does this sound like a busted battery? is it possible to get a replacement battery? how much are they generally?

    i brought it to a camera shop in town and the guy told me there's no places in Galway that do Samsung camera repair, and that i'd most likely have to send it back to Samsung, and also that it more than likely wouldn't be worth my while in terms of expense.

    Is he right? anywhere else I can bring it? (based in Galway obviously)
