Came across this recently. Closing date for submissions is Friday May 25th.

Generally I would welcome efforts to make the canal more accessible to users as in certain areas it’s in a pretty poor condition. I’m most familiar with the area from Castleknock out of town and it could do with a lot of maintenance. However I would like that the tow path is not completely removed and where space allows that a grass margin is maintained for runners. Certainly from Clonsilla to Westmanstown there should be sufficient space to accommodate both a path and grass margin. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the grass margin is completely removed.

I’d encourage anyone interested to make a submission before the closing date.
