That display is very small and with a low enough resolution. Wouldn't want to work with it myself. Other than that it's a very tasty piece of kit.

    OP

Non glare display/better resolution/up to 14.0 screen size, also some good warranty including next day on site service

I think that you should narrow down your choice to lenovo/dell

I wouldn't recommend Lenovo, worst service ever..... cost you fortune to send the laptop and ages to fix it.... very frustrating...

Think the 12.5 screen will be too small. The screen I have at the moment is 13.3 which is perfect and the weight is 1790 g. Something along those lines will do again. I've seen a few of the Dell Laptops that are advertised as 13.3 but the Laptop is quite bulky and the screen comes with a border so it is not really 13.3. Thanks for your input so far.

    Hi All,

sorry for dusting off an old thread, but i wanted to ask around, and see if the OP went with the X220 in the end?

As im now looking for the exact model for college.

Fits my needs perfectly, BUT, its expensive, on the Lenovo, it comes to about 1700e?!?! and its only a small machine.

Does anyone know where i could pick these up, at a reduced rate, brand new of course, but on sale somewhere or something?\

    Cheers! :D

Lenovo do 10% off at bank holidays. Their laptops are rock solid. Drug reps use them on the road. I have a t52o and it's a tank. IBM type build. best laptops
IMO. Dell are very hit and miss. Get the. Est quality screen.

Re student - phone and tell them where u are going to. Perhaps there is some deal going.

The t420s are the dogs I think. Screen a bit bigger and solid. Very light and almost unbreakable

As for warranty - next day onside for business laptops. I found them quick, I once needed a dvd rom

    Awesome!

yeah i have worked in IT the last 3 years, one of the machines i have got my hands on in the past was an older version of the ThinkPad X220 - i agree RE: being Well built, etc..

Hopefully i can find some deal for it - as its abit of a steep price, i need to save the pennies, as im returning to college!

Phone them and put cards on the table. Explain you are a student and they may have a student deal.

    Thats a huge investment alright.

    Good idea.

I will call them and see what they say.

    Hopefully something can be sorted.
