Sky + Box, Right Satellite but only freeview stations

    Hi,
I haven't found a thread to answer this yet, so any help welcome. I have had a sky+ box for a couple of years. It was blown by the wind so I realigned it using a satellite finder. I have great reeception now, but only freeview channels. The settings I used were for the Sky satellite, but none of my sky options (sports, recording etc) are available and an odd selection of free channels, nostly UK. no RTE TV3 etc.

Signal strength is good, I need to know how to get out of this and back onto my sky package. Do I need to change the dish alignment, or can I do it through the sky menu?

Thanks in advance for help-apologies if this has been covered elsewhere

    Wayne

If you have a Sky Ireland subscription and the dish just moved very recently have you checked the signal strength shown on the box. The quality needs to be at 3/4 to be sure of dish pointed right.

Then you may need to leave the card in the box for a while for it to update. Try puttint the card into the slot and plugging out and in the box. Then you may need to ring Sky if the card has not been used in a while in order for them to re-set the card remotely.

If you signal is fine, and your card paid up, and if you can view the free channels, then ring Sky and they can help.

    WooHoo!!

Thanks a million-it worked like a dream. I took out the card (that I never knew was there!) put it in again and switched the box off and on again, then I used the signal meter to change the elevation slightly to maximum squeal. The Quality went up to 3/4 and as if by magic, all the channels were restored.

I cannot thank you enough, if you are ever in Clane, message me and I will buy you a beer!

    regards,
    Wayne
