    Hi,

Is there a min number of staff required before a company can sign up to the taxsaver bus ticket scheme?

My wife gets the swords express. Shes the only one in her company who does, the hr dept says there has to be more..

But on the website theres a 1-5 category.

    Thanks,

    S

No there isn't - it's down to individual company policy. There is no legal requirement to offer the scheme to employees.

Which as I have said in the past is very stupid and terribly unfair.

The Taxsaver scheme (and the bike to work scheme) should be open to all tax payers and administrated at the NTA or Revenue website.

I agree that the scheme should be made more open to people, and also in addition employers need to be more flexible in the way they allow their employees to pay for the ticket. For instance in my employer they would only do yearly tickets if they were paid for over the period of two months. So I just paid for monthly tickets every month when I was using the bus regularly.

I don't understand how any employer can expect you to pay for such yearly ticket out of two months of salary, it's nuts.
