One of his best performances in years as he demolished a super field including Patrick Makau (Marathon WR holder), Kebede (Olympic and WC bronze medalist in the marathon) and Abshero (No.1 pick for the Ethiopian Marathon team)

Basically led from start to finish

He has definitely gave the selectors something to think about for London as he makes an attempt for his 5th Olympic Games. He plans on running in Hengelo next week

I though i'd read that he wasn't going for selection on the track this year and would run his last ever 10k on the trac in Hengelo?

Think he pulled a u turn on that one as in interviews seemed very much focused on making the team. As Hengelo is being used as the Ethiopian trials it looks like he will need top 2 there to make the team

Try expat shield to get around not being in the UK. Give it a Google. You'll be able to use the player then.

He's running in Hengelo next Sunday in the 10,000m which is apparently doubling as the Ethiopian trials and the top 3 get picked.

I just checked though and it doesn't seem to be getting any TV coverage, at least on either Sky, Setanta, Eurosport or ESPN :(

Yep. First 3 across the line go to the Olympics for the 10,000m. I guess that means Kenenisa Bekele is concentrating on the 5000m only as he's not on the start list I don't think.

I find this hard to believe. If Bekele is in proper shape he will not be overlooked. I cant imagine he is focusing solely on the 5000m.

Actually it might be just the top 2 who get picked and the 3rd slot left vacant for Bekele. That's what I seemed to find when I did a google search there now.

i dunno what time it's on at

it might be a long shot as i believe there's 13 ethiopians in the race

    hope he does it anyhow

The years are cruel eh. Just couldn't go with the pace in the last 450 or so. Should've taken out Irish citizenship a few years ago.

he ran a great race for an old guy

just eaten up on the last lap

i couldn't figure out his placing among the ethiopians on the romanian stream

4th or 5th I think. Hard to say alright. Jeez, the Dutch tv coverage was rough. Still though, an added bonus to see it at all.
