Lads I got a new zyxel modem from eircom and now my wifi connection doesn't work, the wifi signal strength says excellent but I can't see any web pages. Connecting to the modem via the cable and everything is fine.

Anyone else get this problem before?

maybe just remove the network and join the network again(means having to type in the wpa key).

I had problems connecting a laptop with vista on it(win 7 desktop and 2 gaming consoles connected fine). In the end tyech support got me to change the network name and the pre-shared key and everything connected fine so maybe give that a go.

The signal strength may say "excellent" but does it say you're connected? You might need to input a new key and connect again.

This is where in my opinion we should start:

Can you access the modem's config page?
    Can you ping the modem?

Can you ping any website at all?
If you can, can you access website when you key in the IP address into the browser?
Can you ping Eircom's DNS server(s)?

What IP address are you getting?
What it is the default gateway and subnet?
Check - are the IP/DNS settings auto or manual?

Have you tried resetting (not restarting) the modem?

Is the Internet on your computer working if you connect it to the modem via cable?

You need to update your laptop network card drivers.
Connect it with a lan cable,
goto start-> right click "My Computer"->manage-> select device manager->right click on the netork card in the list and select update driver.
    Should fix the problem,if not
Uninstall the network card and restart the computer (select no, if it asks to unistall drivers)
