Here it is, our Heineken Cup Final preview. Dave also got a short interview with Media & Communications Officer for the Leinster Branch Peter Breen.

It's the big one! In our second episode this week, Talking Rugby looks ahead to the Heineken Cup Final between Leinster and Ulster.

Dave O'Grady is back as the host and he is joined by Alan, Pedro, William and Michael. Earlier in the week Dave also caught up with Leinster Rugby's Media & Communications Officer Peter Breen.

    Coming up on the show:

02:30 - Dave talks to Peter Breen on all things Leinster.

14:40 - We preview the Heineken Cup final! Issues discussed include:
    - The influence of Nigel Owens on the scrum.
    - Our Leinster/Ulster combination dream team.
    - Are Leinster the greatest Heineken Cup team of all time?
    - Can Ulster stifle Leinster at the breakdown?
    - The fitness of key players e.g. Ferris and O'Driscoll.

47:00 - Ireland have announced their squad to face the Barbarians on May 29. A few of the panelists see this fixture as somewhat pointless!

53:50 - We look at England's squad for the summer tour and a quick mention for the Amlin Challenge Cup final.
1:01:4 - We finish with our Bet of the Week!

Hopefully 2 shows in a week is something we can do in the future! We were able to cover everything comprehensively this week between the 2 shows.

Unfortunately I know little to nothing about phones Dan!

Maybe you can download it onto your PC and transfer it as an audio file onto the phone? I don't know if podomatic streams it on phones, depends on the make probably.

    spot on team Pedro.

Wasn't straightforward at all, lots of marginal calls. Both teams are playing really well. As I said to William the 15 guys I didn't select would make one hell of a team as well.

As Alan rightly pointed out after the show Biarritz +3 is available at evens in a few places now. So take that as the BOTW

yeah you can. (Speaking as an expert who only just figured it out). I have an iphone and managed within about 2 minutes - they are big files so be sure to be on wifi. If you download it via itunes you should manage it.

Would ye, as a listener, prefer 2 short shows a week or 1 longer one? Or does it matter?

You can send it straight to the south of France. That one was all Daithi.

Was hard for him to pick because Toulon revolt him and he thinks Serge Blaco is basically Darth Vader :pac:

Kills me to say it but the "rugby team" beat the "rugby talent".
Toulon would have hammered them if they played as a unit.
Mr Barnes was obligingly blind but alls well that ends well :pac:.

In fairness that's exactly what you said would happen.

Barnes's decline continues. Already removed from the international panel he can't be far off getting pulled from the European panel as well.

Good show lads although you were sorely lacking a Leinster voice.

Amused to hear my question about the scrum being a cluster fcuk under Owens being used, although devastated to hear thomond exercise self censorship.

Alan tried about 8 different Leinster fans but apparently you lot are all over in London for some match that us down in Munster reckon doesn't mean much any more ;)

I prefer the shorter shows, they're a lot more concise.

Any questions for our panel for next week's show?

Tbh I'd never really listened to a full episode but did so yesterday on the bus from the airport, some very good analysis and I like the way things are looked at in so much depth. Will listen in future for sure.

    Cheers dan.

Any questions for the panel everyone? The show might be recorded tonight.

With all the talk of the French and English trying to move the goalposts in relation to qualification for the Heineken, do the panel feel there is a danger of them removing themselves, or not putting any effort into the competition (a la some of the french teams in the past) if the Irish domination continues for the next few years?

    Interesting one, thanks for posting.

Honestly I don't see their manoeuvres as trying to get out of the HEC, if anything this shows that they see more value in the competition than before. Remember the English/Welsh sides were happy to downgrade the Anglo-Welsh Cup to essentially a "B team" competition.

I will put it to the panel all the same when the subject pops up.

I agree, perhaps a follow up question might be "Do the panel think there is potential for the RFU and FFR to try and form a breakaway "bigger" cup or even a Euro Super League, similar to the round ball chatter over the years?"

Personally, don't think they would as the money from their own leagues is far too great but the owners of the clubs might see some potential in the idea. They may see the Rabo and think a bigger, grander, more competitive Euro league could be a runner.

The travel costs are a big stumbling block to a European Super League I think, particularly for the English and French sides that don't have to leave their country for domestic away fixtures.

Any more questions or things ye want discussed? The recording is tonight.

Ask one of the Leinster panel what was more satisfying for them, Ireland doing the GS or Leinster winning their first HC.

Ask them how they would approach the summer tour to NZ if they were head coach, especially regarding team/squad selection/rotation etc etc.
