So looking at some cars for my girlfriend and she spotted an Astra that she likes, just out of interest I put the reg from the pics off the dealer website into a check website and it's after returning some different info.

As advertised its the 1.3 Diesel but showing it's 1.4 Petrol. Same colour etc...

How reliable are these sites.? She was extremely interested in this car, would this be a warning sign to steer clear.?

Fecking chancer, you would imagine when start talking about money if an engine has been changed it would be mentioned. :(

Question, would dealers in the north take trades on cars from the south..?

Lads, sorry for offtopic, but is there still that free car check up online? Or they removed it?

I'm sure they'll take it alright - what they'll give you for it is another question.

Would it give info on where's the car was imported from? Jap or uk?

That's extremely unlikely. Have you asked the dealer? It's most probably a simple mistake in the ad.

It is more likely to be an administrative error of some sort than an actual problem with the car. The chances of a relatively new Astra having been converted from petrol to diesel are remote IMO.

    okay, confused...

cheers for those links, even the free check up did some job.

on check up it says: Aero kit, so it shuld be a UK import. thing is: Aero kit gives you a rear spoiler and lowered suspension etc. i dont see spoiler on that mazda.
i dont mind it being a UK import, but i really dont want it to be a JAP import.

This is the fastest 2WD car ever made

With a quote like that I wouldn't bother with it.

Just so you know that for sale from a dealer/trader i would think. The insurance disk has a name instead of a reg on it.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, unless he is trying to hide the fact he is a dealer/trader. Then run.
