Getting away for the winter

At the moment, I'm researching the possibility of spending some of the winter somewhere warm and sunny. Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria spring to mind although I've never been to any of them. I'm quite into running and a big part of the reason for going would be to train in warm weather so I guess somewhere that is suitable for that.

I'm not sure how long I'd stay somewhere, at least a few of weeks but possibly 2 or 3 months.

A hotel is obviously out of the question so I guess some sort of reasonably priced apartment or something would be ok. It would quite possibly just be me on my own, and it would probably need the usual stuff like a kitchen and washing machine.

Any suggestions for places to stay/rent? I would consider other locations also but somewhere that's a short enough flight from Ireland.
