    Can somebody help settle a bet for me?
    When did Kerry last beat Tyrone in the championship?

    The bet is that Kerry havent beat Tyrone in the 00's, is this correct?

    Last time Kerry beat Tyrone was in the 1986 All Ireland Final. Don't think they played each other at all in the 90's and the two or three times they met in the 00's Tyrone won them all.

    they have only played each other 3 times since 1986, Tyrone won them 3.

    semi in 03.
    final in 05.
    final in 08.

    Yeah 1986 it was. Tyrone led by 5 or 6 points in that game but hadn't the experience or the guile to go on and win it. Kerry wore them down and won comfortably enough in the end.

    Not only that but they had a penalty, that was put over the bar, AFAIK.

    remember that match well, tyrone were completely on top leading 1-7 to 0-04 when they got a penalty and put it over the bar, spillane going down the other end a few minutes later and changing the entire game

    Remember that game well. Absolutley gutted so I was and I'm not even from Tyrone.
