I bought a wiper stalk with the 6 speed intermittent setting for my 2001 Focus, and of course the inevitable happened the intermittent setting didn't work I'm just wondering is there anything im missing here or was it never going to work on my model car?

No big loss if it won't It was only 7 euro from eBay.

Is it possible the part itself is faulty?

Might need a relay to accept the different speeds.

As jer said, it might need a new relay. There are two grey replays for the wipers behind the glove box, make sure they are there.

Possibly.. maybe that's why it was being sold on eBay.

Ill have a look for the relays now, thanks for the suggestion.

What if they are both there?

The wiper will have 10 pins, so the wiring for the plug will also need 10 pins. Sounds like you only have 9 pins on the plug.

OK I just counted the pins on the part I took out and it had 10 also, so im presuming they both have the same.

Here is a picture of the fusebox I wasnt sure what to look for if anyone else can help..

Quick bump before I give up on it..

Anyone else got anything that might help? I asked on another forum and they said the parts for the intermittened wiper speed are insdie the stalk itself so relays wouldnt matter and it should of been a striaght swap.
