That's good news, has a change log been posted for the new update? Thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,006 ✭✭✭beno619

It's currently only available for unbranded handsets, going to have to wait a while your network to finish adding some bloatware :(

I got the update this morning (manually checked for updates). I'm on 3.

What software number are people on?

    I updated a week ago to 1.27.

    I'm now on 1.29.104.7

Seeing mentions of a 1.29.104.11 update online

What has everyone else been upgraded to?

Looks like a 1.32 update is on the way

Still on 1.28 got the update for 1.28 a few wks ago waiting for 1.29 now.

I'm on 1.29.104.11 but thats through installing a custom rom. Only minor updates from 1.29.104.7 I think

1.32 is supposedly a bigger update.

From my experience with the S three only do major updates, so if this is a minor patch then you wont get it OTA.

    Undranded on 3

Updated to 1.29.401.11, battery was on 69% when I downloaded update, installed, then after reboot battery was 82%, don't know is this a good improvement or if there is now something a miss!!

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

I got 1.29.401 yesterday, and it seems to have improved. 25 hours and i'm still at 30%, with moderate use (music, Endmondo with GPS and general browsing). Seems pretty good to me.

You are on a branded Three device am I right? I am also. Did you check for update or did it come automatically?

I'd actually like to be able to tell also. As far as I can see my phone boots with the 3 logo. I presume that's it. I'm on 1.28.771.9

Yes I get all the "Three" Branding when I switch on the phone so I assume it is locked to three. I am also on 1.28.771.9

Wonder when it will be updated to 1.29

It better be quick, I only have the phone about a week and a half and I can see it flickering. If the update isn't released soon I'll be heading back in to the shop!

Is it just Vodafone people waiting?
Bad form if they are leaving users waiting ages for a necessary update.

Slight. But it might just be my battery breaking in.

Rumours are surfacing that carphone warehouse in the UK is calling for a recall of all One X's to make sure the update is flashed. To be honest it's situations like this that make me hate branded firmware. It literally just irritates everyone.

Got this upgrade a week ago on my unbranded e-mobile One X.

I have noticed a slight improvement in battery life but the disturbing change I have is that the screen and/or back getting very hot.

This definitely did not happen before this upgrade.

    Has anybody else experienced this?

Is this when idle, of when you're pushing the processor?

Even before any updates, mine tended to get rather hot around where the Camera is, particularly during streaming.

Update doens't seem to have made any difference either way.

Mine's been installing the update for about two hours already. Is it normal to take that long?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 429 ✭✭Thomasofmel

    Mine took 10-15 minutes :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,719 ✭✭✭polaris68

Happened to me on one of the updates (1.28 or 1.29) and I did a long press on the power button which shut it down, when I restarted the installation completed.

It was a nervous 60 seconds!
