i have had noticed previously that when i downloaded facebook as an app on someone else's i phone that account was still active on the phone and through security settings i deactivated it. i noticed recently that an i phone had been active yet again in my security settings a week after i had logged into this i phone so i deactivated this i phone on the account. a few days later it showed up that an i phone was active on my account again using it-i had changed my password around christmas so cannot see how this happened?? is this all just a coincidence??

You probably didn't log out of Facebook on the iPhone. When the person fires up the FB app on their phone your credentials are still in the system. Though if they changed the password they should have been prompted to change it.

I did log out of the phone and have changed password as mentioned in original post so cannot see how the i phone would still come up as being active on my account despite the fact that i have deactivated it-twice.

same person was also witnessed going into my facebook on my work phone whilst i was on holidays as it was left in office.

You say you changed your password at Christmas, when did you download and add your login details to the app?

So far as I am aware all it does is kill off that user session. Not unlike if you used your Gmail in an Internet cafe and left the browser open. You would still be logged in from there. You can kill that session but nothing would stop you going back and logging in from that samePC and browser if you have the password. If you fire up the FB app and if it has the right credentials it will log straight in.

What's confusing is, do you have this iPhone in your possession any more?

Sorry bout the confusion-i entered the facebook on the I phone before the password chamge. Additionally it was on the person's I phone that had already been on my facebook on my workphone without me knowing-so just wondering was it possible for him to have hacked into my fb again even tho I logged out of fb on his I phone, changed password, and deactivated the I phone from my account twice and it on it again?

I think you need to be ultra specific with the dates and how many phones are involved. Right now you can not change a password on the current version of the Facebook App. You could on earlier versions of the app. Have a look at your own version of the Facebook app.

If you change your password on the desktop version FB, any FB apps you have on mobile will need to re enter the password.

I would suggest that you change your password again and I would also recommend that you update passwords on your email as well. Your Gmail could well be compromised if it was on the iPhone.

I don't know what your current relationship with the colleague is or if he/she is still is a colleague but you need to challenge them on their behaviour.

when he was witnesses looking at facebook was oct, i installed app on his i phone in nov and did log out, noticed it was still active on account (despite logging out on phone must have had keep logged in on it), noticed i phone was active again, changed password at christmas and deactivated it last week and it was active again at weekend, prehaps password was guesssed as i didnt change much.

so if i change password again there will be no more access??

it strange i do normally bring something up if people have done something out of way, but as i know a while that he was witnessesed on my facebook i feel time has passed to bring it up. this guy used to be my superior, but i have moved departments but he still in the office so dont want atmosphere to be awkward.....and yes something did happen between us after i moved departments but that was a good bit ago so feeling a bit freaked out by all of this!!!

I don't envy your situation. It's odd that somebody would behave like this.

I would use a complex password if you can. Letters and numbers and if possible symbols e.g. & or % perhaps you can amend your password to include some numbers an symbols?

Also, I can't recall if Facebook has password recovery questions. What was your first pets name?

You should also verify your account by adding a mobile number.

Also you should switch on login notifications (in Security settings)
