If you have a food processor it's very easy and cheap to make your own.

Would a hand liquidser work? How do you do it?

Currently on my second tub of Peanut butter.

Taste is excellent. I've had crunchy and smooth. Both are great but personally i prefer the bite of crunchy.

From a nutrition point of view, it's excellent as it is 100% peanuts. The disadvantage of this is that the oil separates out when stored at room temp. So I keep mine in the fridge and it's fine. When you get the tub you have to mix the oil back in and then refrigerate.

The downside of keeping it in the fridge is that it is difficult to spread on bread etc. This isn't an issue for me as I blend it into one of my protein shakes for the good fats and a bit of taste.

Overall i'm really happy with it. Excellent price as well. It's a great way to get extra calories in.

Just opened a tub of the Almond butter yesterday evening.
Same taste and consistency as the one I usually get from Holland & Barrett so I'm quiet happy with it.

As Fearcruach said they will separate but its just a matter of stirring it up.

I see the peanut butter is €6.85 per kg. I got 1kg of meridian brand 100% peanut butter in holland & barret for €6.50 before. If it is not on the shelf ask for it as it might be out back, too big for shelf space.

The almond butter is €13.29, it could be cheaper to buy almonds & blend yourself. Other nut butters like cashew can cost a fortune in health shops, compared to buying the nuts whole.

Also these big tubs tend to vanish a lot faster than several small ones :pac:

The Meridian PB is around the €9 mark in H&B.

I really like the MP Peanut Butter & Almond Butter.

They have the 1kg tub out on the shelves in a good few H&Bs. It's €9.50 for a tub at the moment, though it's definitely worth picking up if it's on offer in their half price or 2-for-1 sales.

9.50 is a big rise, it was definitely 6.50 before but I haven't got it in ages. I noticed cashews increased a lot in price in tesco, while their peanut butter has gone down.

I don't like the taste or texture of Meridian peanut butter.

    I use Bulkpowders peanut butter.

I got a 1kg tub of meridian peanut butter in the mill centre in clondalkin today for €7 or so. Not sure on the name of the shop though.
