    Hi there,

At the end of the month, the CRC submissions are due to feed into the process of creating new laws for copyright in Ireland.

THE SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE and the committee has made it clear they want to hear from users who are severely under represented (no paid lobbyists for the public!).

So, if you have questions about the process or you want further clarification, please post here and Eoin is going to come and answer them later this week or early next week (time permitting).

In addition, two submissions are being made that I'm involved with. One from Boards itself which is a corporate submission focused on what Boards.ie wants.

The other is a submission from Stephen Donnelly, Catherine Murphy, myself, Simon McGarr, Antoin O'Lachtain and others. This is aimed at representing the users and the general "people of Ireland". When we publish this (in 2 days time!) I hope you will give us your feedback and add your own names to it.

So... if you want to know more about the process, the submission approach or the details of the workings of the review committee please ask below. But please be aware, Eoin is the referree here, not a player on either "side" and wont be dragged into a debate on "copyright" itself.

    TL;DR
Ask your questions about the CRC submissions below!

What provisions are going to be made for "fair copy" provisions e.g. AFAIK under current law it is illegal to rip a cd so that the songs can be listened to on an mp3 player.
