Both are up and coming stars, both have had outstanding seasons with the their teams, both play in similar positions and both will be playing in the EPL next season Hazard for most likely for city and kawaga for united,I haven't seen much of these players. Who is the better player?

You forgot....they both have awesome names!

From what I've seen of them, there isn't a whole lot in the difference between the two ability wise but Hazard is two years younger and will probably go on to be a better player.

From the little enough I have seen of both Hazard is the better player, but he's also a bigger cnut ;)

Better player? The one who signs for United, of course ;)

Haven't seen much of either of them tbh, but Kagawa played very well in the German cup final....

Hazard imo - future world player of the year.

Kagawa is very good, certainly. He would be an excellent player for United if we do get him, but I would be more excited if we signed Hazard.

hazard has not been playing at the same level as kagawa so i cant see why people think he is better.

german league, is far better than french one and hazards international record is not great at all.

One thing that I will say is that Kagawa for ~£10m >>>>>>>> Hazard for ~£35m

Obviously whoever does best in Stoke on a wet Tuesday night.

from a value point of view, possibly.

When it comes to winning games of football value is not much of an issue though. I rate Hazard more and think he is more likely to reach the level of Messi/Ronaldo - his or Kagawa's value doesn't change that.

I vote Kawaga sure I could even look good in the french league.

I'd imagine hardly anyone has seen them enough to make a judgement tbh.

Saying that, Hazard has gotten more media attention and is better in Fifa so I'm gonna say Hazard

When your club doesn't have unlimited amounts of money and has to be run sensibly, value becomes extremely pertinent though.

Hazard may reach Ronaldo/Messi level, he may not. He has a better chance of doing that than Kagawa because of the age difference but is still nowhere near guaranteed of getting there.

Kagawa is only 23 and a brilliant player himself, who has done it in a stronger league so he could well go on to be a world beater as well. I would prefer him at a significantly lower price (and probably wages!) to Hazard.

Is it worth considering the commercial advantages Kagawa would bring ? With Park prob on his way out a good Asian player would be handy .

They'd prob make that money back in no time if we did sign him .

Hands up here anyone who has actually seen Eden Hazzard play a full game of football from start to finish (not highlights).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭Cokeistan

Won't be able to judge either until I see them play regularly. I watched Kagawa in the German Cup Final Saturday night and he was immense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,828 ✭✭✭bullvine

Why dont we start a poll to see how many people have actually seen Hazard play! I watched the German Cup final also and Kawaga was sensational, I was surprised to see him put the foot into tackles as well but thats the most I have seen of him.

I remember Gullermo Balague on Revista around the time Arsenal bought Jose Antonio Reyes about 5 months after Ronaldo signed for United, saying he would be a far better player than Ronaldo and look how that turned out!

if kawaga wasn't asian he would be more highly regarded

He plays for the current champions of France! It's not like he's playing in Mongolia. I'm sure there are dozens here who have seen him play.

Being honest, I couldn't really Hazard a guess to the question being asked :pac:

Hazard isn't worth £25m-30m more than Kagawa

nth future world player of the year. Messi is 24 and will be 25 in a month. I can't see anyone winning it apart from him and Ronaldo in next few years, then we have likes of Ozil who is just 23 and playing for one of the biggest club.

I dont know who is better as I haven't watched Hazard much, but from what I have seen Kagawa is also very good player.

Remember when the original Ronaldo won world player of the year the first time? Didn't it seem like no one else could win it anytime soon then...Or like Ronaldinho would be unbeatable a few years back. Things happen and can change quickly in football. Do you honestly expect Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to be the only winners of WPOTY for the next 8 or 9 years? (given that hazard is only 21 and 4 months old and in 8 or 9 years will still only be 29 and 4 months or 30 and 4 months old)

No, but the way they are playing I can't see anyone winning in the next few years and then we have excellent young players who are playing at the highest level like Ozil and all.

Just that "Future world player of the year" is used for many players.

Dortmund could survive without Kagawa whereas Lille would struggle without Hazard. Hazard could be something special.

Yes, easily, they are pushing each other to Playstation figures. No other player comes close to them in all fairness.

That's probably down to the fact that Dortmund have a vastly superior team. The likes of Gotze, Kehl etc are quality midfielders. Lille also lost Yohan Cabaye only last season so Hazard's loss will obviously be a huge blow as he's their main man

    I agree with Coke.

    Dortumnd's midifeld options wthout Kagawa:

Khel, Kringe, Perisic, Kuba, Gotze, Bender, Gungodan, Großkreutz, Leitner, and Reus is coming in.

    Lille without Hazard:

Balmont, Gueye, Pedretti, Mavuba, Jelen, Payet and Joe Cole.

    It's clear who's supreme.

I can't see a single non-EPL player choosing Utd over City, especially now they've won the league. I think Hazard will go to City (the way he's been whoring himself suggests to me money is a motivating factor) and Kawaga will go to Utd (relatively cheap, not interesting City). Utd aren't the draw they once were.

Obviously, it's Kagawa for me ;)

Sad to see him leaving Borussia Dortmund though. His price tag is in and around 15 Million Euro, so I heard.

Funny you should say that , got a text from a friend who has a usually reliable source saying that Hazzard has agreed to sign for City . .
