    Hi,
well i just got accepted for my course in the finglas fas right beside Balbutcher LN

i got a lift out their for my interview
but i cant depend on getting lifts out for the 13 weeks the programme is running for

    anyway need help

    i currently live in drimnagh
and found out by using google map that the 19a and 83 ( both of which go through crumlin ) go straight out to the place

the 19a leaves me right beside it and the 83 leaves me about 15-20 minute walk from it id say

anyway i tried looking up the 19a timetable and found out theirs no 19a anymore?and it said it was combined with the 83 or something

can anyone tell me if the 83 will bring me close to or right beside balbutcher LN

because i have to walk at least 15-20 minutes just to get the 83 bus stop or the 19a bustop

by the way it said the 83 was combind with the 19a and 19 for new routes in finglas so please anyone its urgent,

just need to know if the 83 will bring me close to balbutcher LN be greatly appreciated thanks :)

The Google maps data is hopelessly out of date.

This is the link to the 83 timetable >

    http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/Your-Journey1/Timetables/All-Timetables/83-/

Scroll down to the "From Kimmage towards Harristown" section of the table and click "View on map" (can't link directly to the popup window it will open). It gives the bus stops on the route. There's a stop on Jamestown Road just down from Balbutcher lane, but it's the Poppintree side, so I don't know how much of a distance you'd have to walk from there?

The bus routes in the area changed last October. Basically, the 19a is now the 9 and the 83 was rerouted in Glasnevin to replace the 19.

The new 9 and 83 share the same routing and stops on Jamestown Road at the junction of Balbutcher Lane. Either the 9 or 83 will work for you. The 140 also stops close by but this does not serve the Crunlin area so is probably not much use.

Depending on where in Drimnagh you live, you might find it easier to catch the 122 and then hop on a 9/83 on Candem St using a travel 90 ticket, which allows 10 Journeys of unlimited transfers (with 90 mins of boarding the first bus) for €21.50

    thanks everyone for fast replys

nah mate il be getting a travel grant and will be getting a student bus pass for
€16.50 it lasts 5 days unlimited travel

think i found out 2 ways for me which might be fast enough

get the 83 from crumlin straight in about 1 hour 10 mins on the bus iftheirs traffic then it will be longer

or 122 into town get the 40b straight out

The 40B is not the most frequent and will only take you to Charlestown. If you're planning to take the 122 you are best getting off at Harrington Street and taking either the 9 fron Harrington Street Church, or walking to nearby Richmond Street to catch the 83 or 140 to Jamestiown Road. All the stops here have RTPI screens so you can plan which stops works best.

Getting the 83 from the terminus seems like madness as it goes via Rathmines.

I think use whatever means to get to the city centre fast and then change to a Finglas / Ballymun bus. A bus & Luas ticket might be useful as you could change to the 83 (an earlier departure) at Four Courts / Church Street.

Spent a couple of months last year going to FÁS in Finglas before and after the 19A and 83 changed.

The 140 is, by a stretch, the fasted way between there and town. I definitely suggest getting whatever bus to town and get the 140 to Finglas as long as there isn't a gap of more than 5 minutes between a 9 and the 140. Never get the 83, ever. :)
