So what types of cars would you be interested in you think?
For small and cheap, go with a 10 year old Micra. They have a timing chain and the engine is pretty bulletproof.

The late 90s/early 00s 1.25 Fiesta used to be regarded as a good starter car. Not sure if thats still the case.

Im not a fan of Corsas personally (or Opels in general) as I have found the reliability to be shocking, but that could be just my experience of them.

Id go along with a 10ish year old Micra tbh. Japanese cars are usually very reliable and I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable my mothers 99 Micra was to drive.

Without a budget OP, we could be recommending cars here all day.

Starlet or yaris. I have had both, a 96-99 starlet would be cheap as chips, but still has a nippy enough 1.3 engine.
A Yaris won't wow you with performance but they run on fresh air and ours is still hard at it after 140,000 good hard miles.. In fact, we can't bring ourselves to sell it despite not needing a second car..

You won't buy a Peugeot 207 for €1800. Do you mean the 206?

sorry my mistake:o i did indeed mean the 206,nice little cars so dey are and can be bough for around 1300
