Ive a dell xps m1210 laptop that had 2GB of memory.
i took this out and got myself a 4GB of memory for this laptop.
But the problem is that its only showing up as 2.99GB.
Ive taken it out and put it back in, rebooted many times but still the same results.

Anyone out there have a clue what im to do?

From reading this thread it seems to be a hardware limitation in the Intel chipset the M1210 uses.

(The thread talks about a 3.25 GB limit; possibly the additional 0.25 GB is being used up by the onboard graphics.)

You could check that your BIOS has been upgraded to the latest version and see if that gets you a little more RAM under Windows?
