Deleting all info on old computer?

    Hello all

At home, we have an old computer (big desk top yoke with a tower beside it) that is due to be recycled.

The files have been moved from this computer by my brother so I don't know if there is any info on it. Am I grand to bring it to the bring centre or is there anything I need to do? Now, the key board is no longer part of it as it is being used on the current desk top which is fairly old too and very slow/bad to use. I think its the c drives?

This whole operation is being done on the sly as my dad has issues with holding onto useless crap.

    Thanks everyone:)

It depends on the sensitivity of the information. If its just a few mp3 n that the run a 3 pass low level format. The data will be very hard to get back..if however there is information that no I've can simply see the open up the pc take out the harddrive, grab a drill/hammer and have yourself a good time

Yeah, take it out. Send the rest for recycling.

Is the hard drive in the tower or the screen (big fat yoke, not flat) part.

    Looking forward to smashy smashy!

Should the smashed hard drive go in the bin or can it be recycled.

Hard disk would be in the tower and look like this:

Make sure you bring the CRT (Big fat Screen) to a recycle centre as they should be disposed of properly.
