I really hope Bayern win. They have been playing great football all season and I like the idea of Chelsea not having CL next year.

Gotta fancy Bayern, but Chelsea have been written off too much this season.

Think Bayern by the odd goal.

I'm torn now. I'd much rather Bayern win, but spurs finished fourth so can be dumped into the Europa League if Chelsea win.

Guess I really will be a neutal this time.

Getting the lederhosen out for this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,546 ✭✭✭Masked Man

    Cech

    Bos--Luiz--Cahill--Cole

    ---Mikel---Lampard

    Torres--Mata----Kalou

    Drgoba

    This would so nicely.

I would have Bayern as favourites to win it but, watching them last night, I think Chelsea could win, if RDM gets his tactics right again.

Something like the Barca game and the first 60 against Liverpool and we'll do it. Something like the Newcastle game and the final thirty against Liverpool and we won't.

I wasn't impressed by Bayern last night, though Borussia were incredible. I also don't see them putting in two poor performances in a row.

Dramatic thread title. Presumably we should be reading with the Crimson Tide soundtrack playing in the background or something?

Couldn't give a fiddlers who wins this since Arsenal got 3rd :p

It'll be nervy for Chelsea and for Spurs fans and I hope you hate every minute of it! :P

Knowing that they'll both be shítting it, and that one of them will be monumentally disappointed is good enough for me ;)

Wasn't sure until today but now want Chelsea. Just not a Spurs fan tbh. Think Bayern 2-0 but Chelsea have been written off a lot of times this season...

I've got Bayern in a West Ham/Leinster/Bayern treble. Placed that bet before I saw them dismantled by Dortmund in the German Cup Final last weekend. I reckon Bayern to shade it.

Already missing Gustavo in the centre as well. I think Schweinsteiger will play though beside Kroos with Muller further forward. Not a very balanced midfield, Gustavo is a huge loss.

I think Chelsea could line up like this:

    Cech
    Bosingwa----Luiz
    Cahill
    Cole
    Romeu---Mikel

    Lampard
    Kalou
    Mata
    Drogba

Not sure if Romeu will start, but Essien playing against Blackburn seemed like an indication that he wouldn't play in this.

He'll definately play. He has played injured before and they are missing important players already. Unless his leg his hanging off him, he'll start.

    A stroll for Bayern 4-1.

Cant write of Chelsea after the Quarter and Semi finals.

Just think the suspensions and injuries will take its toll.

    Bayern 2-1.

I've put a massive 1 yo yo bet on Chelsea to be 1-0 up at HT and to win it 3-1.
    Odds were 150/1
    Easy money!:pac
We will miss Ramires something unreal in this game.

Chelsea and RDM to complete the fairytale, 1-0. Am a neutral

They've coped pretty well so far.

This is the kind of game I'd trust the players to perform, as opposed to lesser games when half of the team don't look bothered.

Since I think Chelsea and their fans are horrible, i'll be hoping for Bayern to Blitzkrieg the Sh*te out of them.

Sounds like Cahill aint going to make it. Luiz will though
Otherwise I agree, cant see Romeu starting over Essien, so someone else?

Torres could start WITH Drogba, so Torres pushed to the wing with Kalou the other side and Mata in the middle.

Chelsea have been written off time and time again. We have always had terrible luck in this compition except this season the tide of luck has changed. Chelsea to win 3-2.
Will Nando repay his price tag...........

The Star are saying the decision on Cahill will go to the wire. Luiz sounds like he'll be ready.

If one is missing I presume Bosingwa will play at CB and Ferreira at RB? Although from what I've seen of Ferreira lately, he's a disaster waiting to happen so maybe Essien at RB?

Romeu starting is probably a bit of a long shot alright. Not sure I see Torres starting at all, unless Drogba would play out wide like he did for large parts against Barca.

The hate I used to have for Chelsea has faded in recent years, and I'd kinda like to see them win this now, wouldn't surprise me if they pull it off :)

I think Bayern will shade it 2-1 though.

Also, Drogba first goalscorer 15/2 is pretty tasty

Torres is probably our best crosser and isn't a bad option at right or left wing at all. My only qualms would be his defensive contribution but we don't have much options.

We deserve a win here, we've been consistent and pretty unlucky in the Champions League over the past decade. It would also be a great seeing off for the likes of Drogba and a few others who could well be playing their last game for the club.

I can't see it happening though. The idea of Bos and Paulo F making up the right side of defence is unnerving to say the least, not to mention the lack of Ramires in midfield.

Despite their absentees, Bayern should have too much here, home advantage will help too.

    2-0 Bayern

This is the kind of attitude that has gotten us to the final. We truly are the underdogs, but one more herculean performance and we'll win the biggest competition in club football.

I really think Chelsea relish this underdog mentality, it works well with our powerful playing style.

They seem to loving the underdog tag in Europe this season anyway. One more big performance will do :)

I think Cahill and Luiz will be fit for the final. Cahill may be dosed out of his eyeballs on pain killers but i think we have no option but to play him.
We are really really going to miss Ramires!!! Then Ivan at RB to keep Ribery quiet.

Id go for a counter attacking team because it has worked for us the past few weeks. Depending on who is available id say we will line up simular to this. Essien to add cover at RB, Lamps and Mikel to provide the the destroyer/deep playmaker role. Mata and Kalou to provide pace and trickery on the counter attack while Drogba can be used as the target man and hold up play.

    Cech
    Bosi
    Cahill
    Luiz
    Cole
    Mikel

    Essien
    Lampard----
    kalou
    Drogba
    Mata

This will be close. After the semi's i was confident about Bayern winning but they are in bad form. Getting thrashed 5-2 by Dortmund the week before the CL Final isnt good. Granted the CL is the one they want but still they got totally outplayed. Gomez has lost his scoring the past few weeks which must a concern. They do have Muller back who is a class player but there will be more pressure on Munich than there is on Chelsea.

Chelsea definitely prefer the underdog tag this season. Drogba must be nearly certain to start so there will be no place for Torres and Chelsea will be better off for it. For me the game is all about Robben and Ribery. If they play well, Bayern should win, if they dont, this could go all the way to penalties. Bayern 1-0, Muller goal.

I dont know who to cheer.

I hate Chelsea and think they are a horrible club but I think it would hurt spurs more not to get CL football thus being better for liverpool

On one hand I'd love Bayern to win it because on their day they play some superb stuff.

But on the other hand I'd love Chelsea to win it to see the outcry of angry Spurs fans. :pac:

We will miss Ramires sorely, but we still have a chance, Drogba is just destined to score, loves the big games.

Bayern slight favourites but we've been written off all season in this competition I think we're due one more huge performance and we'll definetly need it to win the CL trophy.

My heart says 2-1 Chelsea after 120mins. If it goes to penalties we wont win, Germans dont lose penalty shoot outs :pac:

    oh indeed!
    penalties would be great!

either way, it promises to be a mental weekend in Munich.
    63,000 in the stadium itsself
60,000 watching it in the olympic stadium and another 30,000 watching it at the octoberfest grounds.

And on top of that at least 15,000 ticketless Chelski fans looking to catch the game in already overfilled pubs and sold out ticket only public viewing areas!

    town will be hoppin!
    cant wait !

The amount of people that think Bayern will win means Chelsea will do it :p

In all seriousness though, I think the confidence in Bayern is a little misguided. They will have a gaping hole in their midfield with no Gustavo meaning Mata could have a field day and their defensive replacements are not as good as Chelsea's.

Chelsea (Ramieres aside) cannot press Bayern like Dortmund can, if they could I'd be lumping on Chelsea honestly. Will Chelsea be doing a Barca job on Bayern, maybe. It'd be nice to see them take the game to Bayern though cause it's clear Bayern will be doing just that.

I think Chelsea will sit back and defend for the game, Robben and Ribery would kill them otherwise. Bayern will have the lions share of possession, probably 60-65%. I can foresee Bayern becoming hugely frustrated and Chelsea creating a few good chances on the break. It'll be a question of whether they'll take them or not.

Should be a fascinating game, I definitely think there's value in Chelsea though.
