Dan Martin is not in the Giro and his name is not on the list of riders for the Tour of California. Given the next UCI event is then the Critérium du Dauphiné which takes place in June, it means Martin, despite a great early season will not have raced for about six weeks.

Anyone know is there is some cunning plan behind all this? Are they resting him for the tour? Is in some special super duper training camp ready to storm the TdF?

Or is he just on beach chillin..................

Pity he didn't do the Giro, I think he could have done well, especially as the competition isn't top notch! I think he said he really wants to do the Tour.

Things are looking good for Dan Martin to be competing in TdF this summer according to Cycling News.
While his teammates battle on at the Giro d’Italia, Daniel Martin (Garmin-Barracuda) continues his training as he focuses on the Tour de France. July’s start in Liege is still some weeks away, and the American ProTeam has yet to even announce their long list, let alone their final nine, but all being well, the Irish climber will make his debut at the Tour. After his best ever start to a season which has included 5th in Liège - Bastogne – Liège and 6th in La Fleche Wallonne, Martin headed to the Tour of Romandie where he concluded his spring with 14th place overall. With the Dauphine in June, his race programme matches a traditional Tour build-up schedule, similar to Andy Schleck or Cadel Evans.
It'd be great to see Dan in the tour. He definitely would have a shot at winning a stage, and he'd be up there for KOM too.
