Parkland course in Sligo/Mayo

    Hi,

I'm playing a few links at the end of the month around Sligo/Mayo area. I'm thinking of playing a parkland course one of the days to mix it up. It's a toss up between Castle Dargan, Westport and Ballinrobe. I've heard mixed things about Castle Dargan so I'm not sure whether to play it or not. I've heard it's wet in places. Ballinrobe, on the other hand, looks like a cracking course. Best parkland in Connacht I've heard. I don't really know much about Westport.

Anyone have any views on these courses?
Thanks in advance for any replies

Hi I've played them all, ballinrobe is probably your best bet IMO its not as affected by the weather and it is a gem. That said dargan if it's dry is smashing but no one could guarantee that. I played Westport for the first time a few weeks ago and while I wasn't blown away it is worth a visit.

Go for Ballinrobe is my vote.

I think you should try and fit Westport in as well. The first 6 holes are fairly straightforward but from 7 on, it gets better and better. 15 over the water is great and 18 is a super finishing hole.

It's also a good town to go out in.
