I've seen it couple of days ago, it was posted by various pages on facebook.
Really touching, it keeps you thinking that we really need a push on some of these issues. . .

Excuse my ignorance but did he commit suicide or was it a tragic accident? It just said that he fell from the rooftop?

    Very sad either way.

Guy is going out with another guy for about 6 years. He dies. The family of the deceased pretty much want nothing to do with his partner and he feels like he was never part of his life as he was not at the funeral or was never mentioned.

It's not the best summary, but it's the best I can do at this hour.

its so sad, but it just shows you how much marriage equality is needed and hope like something like this doesnt happen but unfortunately it happens everyday!! i remember seeing an ad about gay adoption rights and how gay couples cant adopt as a couple, so that a child is raised by 2(person x is there legal parent and person z is person x's partner but also raised the child but no legal right) so if something happens to person z the child cant find anything out about there parent in reality but not on paper!! It really does give me that extra push to make a stand

I saw that before and I posted on it in another thread. I feel so bad for him but I saw it coming. I was more angry watching it though. Poor guy:(

How can people in this world do what Tom's family did? Bigots and racisits all fall under the same heading.
There never will be equality till people open their eyes and are made aware that gays have the same rights as everyone else and that we are just not pieces of trash to be treated like yesterday's garbage.
None of us at birth asked to be born nor did we have control over our sexuality.

He fell from a rooftop - likely accidental - he was a photographer doing a shoot.

The familial rejection is not uncommon - the Voices of Children report published by Marriage Equality reported children of a lesbian couple who had very similar issues when their non biological mother died.

The guy who posted the video I believe is trying to raise awareness of the lack of protection for Same Sex couples. I also get the impression from some of the comments that they may have been waiting for the right to get married properly, instead of settling for a Domestic / Civil Partnership - a situation currently being experienced by many Irish Couples who are gay or lesbian.
