    Hi,

    I have come across people who claim to be able to provide information on how
    to build and install your own solar panels. On top of that, there is potential to
    sell back to the grid.

    Now, I believe in the saying: "If it seems to good to be true, it PROBABLY is"

    Has anyone ever actually done this?

    I tried to watch that, but to be honest, there was no fast forward button and the promo drove me around the twist. But solar PVs are now a fraction of what they used to cost a few years ago, and the factories making them are generally considered to be working at a loss, or close to it, so I don't see how there can be any silver bullet here.
