It will only be shown live on Sky Sports. You will be able to catch highlights later on in Irish on TG4.

I know the HEC free to air thing blew up in their face somewhat but it would be nice to have the final on the protected list.

I totally agree but unlikely to happen in near future. Sky contract with ERC ensures this as well as FTA highlights coverage for UK (S4C/ITV4) and Ireland (TG4).

That would devalue the rights quite a fair bit I'd imagine.

I'd absolutely hate that. I like having rugby on my TV most weekends. HEC weekends are an event I don't mind trekking to the pub for, and generally you get a good crowd. I'd hate to have to be watching Dragons vs. Leinster in a pub somewhere.

Agreed great atmosphere to be in the pub for the games. I usually watch Rabo at home and go to the odd Leinster game (would go to more but I must play the broke student card), head to the pub or go to the game if Leinster and stream some of them if other teams.

HEC only on TV would give me 9 weeks of rugby on TV can watch. Rabo gives much more.
