    hi folks,

Have a read a few threads on unlocking sites but nothing definitive. I am looking to unlock my new Sony Xperia Arc S which is currently locked to the o2 network.

Can anyone advise on a reliable provider to unlock? I saw a few people on this site recommending fastgsm, are they the best?

I had e-mailed gsm solutions on abbey street and they replied saying that currently couldn't unlock this model.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Try www.fastgsm.com. They will do it via email. All done in 40 mins or so.

GSM solutions are a company with a history of bad complaints after complaint on boards.ie. The best way to find out if a site is reputable, is to google them

Have done a bit research. Have looked into Fastgsm and they can unlock the phone via data cable and software for $20. Another irish company (unlockimei.net) can also unlock- via data cable €15 and via IMEI for €39.

I'm thinking of just going with Fastgsm. Great feedback. I am wondering if there are any pros / cons in choosing data cable software over IMEI code though? It is the cheaper option. Is the data cable / software a safe method as I don't want to ruin my phone.

If anyone can advise I would be very grateful.

I unlocked a Sony Ericsson play with fastgsm. I was nervous about using this service aswell as I thought I would mess it up and lose money somehow , but there were so many positive posts on here. There was a big thread on unlocking the Sony play about a year ago. It took me a couple of attempts, because i am a bit of a kluts but it was very simple in the end to get an unlock, and well worth the money. You just need a pc, a clip or a pair of tweezers, and your usb cable and download their software. The instructions are very easy to understand and they even have a video to show you how to do the unlocking.
